Colos.trum!

**TMI Warning**

A pregnant mom posted on the SMC forum recently about having squeezed her nipples and seeing drops of colos.trum come out.

So this morning, I decided I needed to try this, too. :)

I did some sort of expressing/nipple squeezing thing, and saw the teeniest, tiniest little drop of colos.trum!

I was so excited, you would have thought I'd won the lottery!!

Since I had breast redu.ction surgery 12 years ago, I had major doubts that I'd be able to breastfeed, as much as I'd like to. I've always known it may not be possible, and that I'd just have to wait and see what happened when I had a baby - whether or not milk would come in, and/or enough of it.

I recently ordered and have been reading a book about breastfeeding after reduc.tion surgery, and it specifically says that colost.rum during pregnancy is not an indicator of whether or not milk will come in, or whether enough of it will.

But I don't care - I'm still SO excited that I was able to get out that tiny little bit of colost.rum! Even if it turns out that colostr.um is all I can offer my baby, that's better than nothing!
