The Last of the Hoops

You know all those hoops we have to jump through before being able to start ttc? The hoops where you have to make appointments with the PCP, RE, OB, clinic, etc? And the hoops where you have to talk the OB into ordering CD3 labs when she doesn't want to? And the hoops where you have to have blood drawn to test for things that are basically impossible for you to have, and to find out your blood type when you already know what it is? And the hoops where you have to go back to the lab because they forgot to draw for something, or couldn't run the lab because the tube was mislabeled? And the hoops when you have to call your PCP's office to try to track down bloodwork results that they haven't told you about yet but your clinic needs, or to find out they simply didn't draw those labs, even though they were on the list? And the hoops when you have to call your old PCP's office to find out if you had the test for HPV when you had your last pap? And the hoops when you have to get the midwife to sign your consent form to order sperm, but you forget to sign the clinic's consent form at the same visit? And the hoops when you realize you needed said midwife's license number, but she didn't fill it in on the form, so you had to figure out how to find it online because the clinic was closed and you wanted to fax in the forms that night? And the hoops when you bring your sperm bank paperwork to work (because you don't have a fax machine at home) and fax them late at night when no one's around to see the logo at the top of the forms? And the hoops when you have to go to a follow-up visit with your PCP so she can make sure you successfully weaned off of lexapro without getting depressed or suicidal? And the hoops where you have to make an appointment for the midwife to do your pelvic and pap because the OB didn't do them during your appointment with her, but then you found out your clinic requires them? And the hoops when your clinic has you fill out the same extended paperwork that you filled out at your last visit, and then realizes your last visit was 3 weeks ago, not a year ago, so they didn't need you to do it again? And the hoops when you have to go see an endocrinologist because the midwife thinks your TSH needs to be lower for when you're pregnant, and then the endocrinologist thinks you're fine (but orders more bloodwork just to be sure)? And the hoops you jump through but now that you've jumped through so many hoops, you can't even think of them all?

Well, I jumped through the last of those hoops today. And it felt SO GOOD.

So, my next step is... finally... to call the clinic when I get a positive OPK and go in for my very first IUI. :)
